I got some cedar over the weekend for a trail I'm working on and split it up yesterday. Tried my hand at splitting some big rungs…

Nice bump!

Some rungs made last weekend for some much needed love on Pipeline.

Going to be put into action shortly.

As for a tip on making the best possible rungs, Find the old growth. It could be burried just under the surface. even after 100 years you will find that once uncovered the wood is still as fresh as the day it came down.

Nothing beats that old growth perfection.
