We were going to ride that today, but held off because of the rain. Looking forward to hitting it up when it's a little dryer, hopefully next weekend, surely sometime soon? :)

Do to the extended winter we had they werent able to get an early start that they wanted. Im not exactly sure on timeline but I assume august!

way to take out the fun, steep, tech sections and replace them with loamy yet really flat and super easy switchbacks…. should we change the rating on this trail to blue now?!

I am guessing you did not ride that trail when it was created about 20 years ago like I did. Then it was all loam. The chundery mess that Executioner had become was the result of a too direct line getting worn and washed away by riders and rain. The old line is not easily maintained and it was time to abandon it and reroute.
One of the problems is that newer bikes with better brakes and suspension allowed riders to adapt and ride that crappy shit. People thought they were getting more capable when in fact the bikes were. The real answer is better trails. Hell, the bottom of Executioner had a new line every couple of years because the older ones got shitty. Besides there are plenty of steep lines on other trails. There is a need for less challenging trails that one can take a less skilled friend down or ride their hardtail race bike on.

But you're missing the point; repairing blown out, rooty, shit fall line trails with sustainable flow is dumbing down the shore!
