In response to an email inquiry sent by the NSMBA, here is the response from Mike Mayers from Metro Vancouver;

“This unsanctioned trail has not been decommissioned. However, given public safety concerns and a recent serious accident on the trail, structures on the trail have been removed. We committed to working with the NSMBA on assessing the long term viability of a few trails in this area and plan on doing so later in the year.”

Didn't they cover up the trail and take out some of the dirt work?

well that was quite the knee jerk response. pull out all structures regardless of potential rider risk (or lack thereof) or benefit in alleviating trail erosion. to be thorough perhaps they should bulldoze that rock line that the youtube guy crashed his brains out on.

I saw it just a few days after the "work" that metro did - if metro covered in in debris, then riders had cleared it within a day or two. But metro did rip apart some of the transitions and that made the trail less safe, so who knows what they're thinking. Its all good to go now aside from wooden structures.

"Social Impacts"
Oh boy.

Yeah, looks to me like they hired someone with a RNS (Restoration of Natural Systems) diploma.

On the up side, this indicates that someone actually CAN get hired with a RNS certificate!

Muchas gracias

I've got this...

It's super shaky and dark as I was chasing the daylight. Was the best freeride trail on the shore for a long time. Sad its gone.

I also have this of Cambodia from the same ride. I didn't know this trail so much so more stopping, plus was beat after climbing the road on my Demo 8.

It's always on my mind. Was up hiking on it and around there today.

I'm ignoring Smedley.
