I was hoping for a final SSC ride this weekend, is Red Baron too deep in snow to ride? What about the lower trails (Mach Chicken, Janet's etc)? How's the road up?
Sustainable will be around forever.

About 4" of snow at the Langdale Ferry Terminal tonight
Why slag free swag?
ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.
How about now?
Yeah, what's the latest?

the only problem w riding red baron in the snow is it destroys the trail. its in sad shape now because of questionable riding choices just like that. come winter time if you just have to get your ride on , here on teh coast , try and stick to trails like guys-dh or dnz-surfs up - blk twr, non fall line trails that can handle the ridership better.
dnz rebuild under way..yday 3 hrs of legit shoveling + maddock + rock bars vs the mtn resulted in one split and soon to be buried big ass rock..landing zone now clear of shiners.
please consider trail conditions before hopping the ferry to come ride the coast.
:rocker:

A fair point… so what are the trail conditions there at the moment? :)
If we assume that RB is now snowed in, what about the lower trails you mention?
those lower ones are def rideable. they are pretty good to go year around if you just have to get yer muddy day ride on..

dude you are totally right. i consider myself lucky to have ridden red baron in its duffshot prime, and lament the deterioration it has experienced. i have ridden rb a few times in questionable conditions - can't seem to help myself; i'm a weak man, and part of "the problem"

the first step is admitting you have a problem….
the next step is probably helping with some trail maintenance. what's the best way to do that - bookmark the scumb website?
