I was up on Tues. The bottom of Mach chicken was totally clear. The clear cut section had a bit of snow but the track was mainly clear. That should give you a rough idea of snow line.

I am itching to ride the Coast soon…would love to ride up Hwy 102 (?) via Sprockids from the Ferry up to the trails in Roberts Creek and the down Red Baron, etc…are these trails rideable at this level? Help please!

So, to update on my own question - as of Feb 9th
B[HTML_REMOVED]K logging road was snow free until Dude's bypass. We didn't go any higher (logs, snow).
Tried to take Dude's bypass over to Mach Chicken…turned around due to deadfall.
Janet's - DNZ - jumpy trail below the dirt jumps was good (some deadfall, someone's been in with a saw and chopped lots up, but some stuff still on the trail, we cleared some, so clear to ride).
Charlie Brown - Pumpkin Patch - Black Tower was fast and fun :-)
A big thanks to the builders/trail faeries/etc…, clearing all the deadfall will be a lot of work…

Our trails got hammered last spring in that hurricane force storm. knocked hundreds of trees down across the trails. Must have given the forest a good cleanse though because I have only fired up the saw once so far this year, and that was just to clear a couple alder snags that rotted and came down.

apparently this yr we had hi winds that came down the mtn. most years we get hi winds off the ocean…

im thinkn you are correct that next year there will be less to worry about..firewood bonanza for now…

kind of..i havnt ridden it in 2 yrs. awesome real estate..bagged out structures and rickety skinnies…

my new method of bucking up blowdown but leaving it in spot for others to toss aside is working pretty good. annoying for the first guys down after me but it saves me time and gets me some help w the labor…:)

I'm going to make a trip down to the SSC in the next few weeks, thanks for the hard work DY

dale s has been doing a lot of clearing on the b+k trails as well. more than me so far this year…

Sprockkids seemed great a couple of weeks ago but highway 102 was hammered with deadfall. trees down every 10 meters or so from the mid point onwards. We tried hiking up to B[HTML_REMOVED]K but that was too deep in snow so battled on through the deadfall on 102. B[HTML_REMOVED]K was almost ride able from the end of 102 but got better around the clear cut down towards the mid point of viper etc.
