Ideally would love to hear what the Sunshine Coaster course is so I can check that out.

thanks for the link. I also have the APP but don't think the trails added for the 2015 Coaster marathon are on it. Does anyone know if they are signed?
Really unthinkable that trails are in this good shape this early on. Kind of makes me scared that once the warm weather hits Disctricts could be shutting down the forests because they'll be so dry.
Last Sunday we rode up from the ferry through Sprockids, across 102, 103, I-trail, Wagon Road, Witches Brew, Eldorado, then back across to 102 and back to the ferry.
The Sunshine Coaster Marathon XC is going to be a truly epic and pancave type of race.

We were out on Saturday, did Mach Chicken then 2001[HTML_REMOVED]Pacheco[HTML_REMOVED]Janet's[HTML_REMOVED]DNZ[HTML_REMOVED]Chunning[HTML_REMOVED]Black Tower and BTS-1 to Mach Chicken again. Really fun day and the trails were in amazing shape indeed. Also surprised how good shape that road is compared to the Coast Gravity road.
My wife and I are heading to SSC for 5 days. Have 1 planned day at Coast Gravity (with a possible second day lined up). I Have the app for SSC but want to know if anyone has any recommended loops for either of the two areas in the subject line. I Love the sufferfests but my wife not so much. Have read that West Sechelt is fairly mellow all-round. Any directionality to the trails?
As for Roberts, is it lots of steep ups or are there any more mellow loops (to ensure continued marital bliss)?
Have searched through previous threads and have some info and will check with Off the Edge as well.

I've done a bunch of days in Roberts but we always shuttle because we are lazy and the road is so good. The highlights:
Mach Chicken - really fun downhill track that caters to all abilities (if you are good you can go really fast and hit the jumps/doubles big, but there is nothing scary on the trail)
2001 [HTML_REMOVED] Pacheco Street [HTML_REMOVED] Janet's Jungle [HTML_REMOVED] DNZ [HTML_REMOVED] Cunning Stunts [HTML_REMOVED] Black Tower is a bit of everything from fun single track, a jump line, really long and challenging (but low consequence) skinny on CS.
Built to Spill/BTS-1 - newer loamy trail, couple steep sections, very very fun.
I would say all these trails are pretty mellow other than some big optional gaps/drops. Intermediates will be comfortable on them. Coast Gravity is also a blast, you will have a great trip.
Park at powelines on the B[HTML_REMOVED]K
Climb up 280's to the first road, take a right on the road, then a left at the fork. Climb the road to mexican jumping bean (or trailfest wagonroad if you like a bit more climbing). Take those to the JB Connector then the Up N Around (+ Connector) to Up N Over. Climb up Guys Gulch and that will put you on a road which connects to HWY 103 (or climb higher for built to spill)
This is my preferred climbing route for most of the trails like Viper, Seven, DNZ. There is (was) a connector trail at the bottom of the logging road off Seven that takes you to Pumpkin Patch which you can get onto black tower and go back to the truck.
Long climbs, but not crazy. Did them with my GF and we had a blast.

West Sechelt is worth checking out. I went with my gf and we had a great time.
The climb is called Duracell.
We descended Brat/Desoto, Parbac and DD/3D/4D.

Thanks for the replies. We're pretty stoked for our first SSC trip! The bike park will be super fun (and it'll be great to not have to pedal up with this heatwave)! My wife is exited for West Sechelt and has given me a morning pass for a solo ride in Roberts for some of the aggro climbing and descending. :fruit:
Some kind of loop or point to point involving hwy 102 (longish trail from Roberts Creek and finishes near the ferry) is a must IMO. Fun mellow ride.
Have been here since Sat evening and had three (HOT) days of riding. Here's an update as to what we've ridden in the hopes it helps others in the future. Highly recommend the iPhone SSC app combined wi th hitting up Off the Edge for some trail connectors beta.
Day 1 - West Sechelt: This is a fairly mellow area but it does provide quite a few great trails and endless opportunities for loops. It's a great area to stay out of the sun and climb on shady singletrack. We started at the south end of the area on Scatterbones to Duracell and then up through a mix of trails to Crowston Lake. From there we went back "down" through Parbac, Brokebac, Dropbac and finished on Addernach. A great mix of pedally, mildly technical XC followed by fast and flowy trails. I would consider it a good intro to SSC riding.
Day 2 - Coast Gravity Park: I confess that having rode Whistler BP a bunch, I would find this just to be "so-so". A big [HTML_REMOVED] fat WRONG!! This place is all about the experience. The trails are immaculate and except for two obvious sections, brake bumps do not exist. A great place to come and throw down lap after lap and have a great conversation with everyone one the shuttle back up. Met some great peeps and had a memorable time…and going back tomorrow because it's too damn hot to pedal up anywhere …
Day 3 - Roberts Creek: Ths morning wasn't too hot so I went out on a solo mission (thanks dear) to check out Roberts Creek. I decided to park near the bottom of B[HTML_REMOVED]K Logging Rd so I could pedal up and explore. Definitely the right move! So many great looking trails just off the road and with more time, it would be easy to figure out some pretty epic climbing loops to access the upper trails. I ended up climbing up to iTrail and this trail is a must do for everyone's trip. A super fast singletrack trail with great line of sight and a couple of stunts thrown in (all with ride-a rounds) for additional excitement. A log ride finishes off the trail to add some spice (again, with a nice ride/walk-around next to it). Continued back up to Mach Chicken as it seems to be the "go to" trail in the area. Again, a fast and flowy run with bigger berms and a number of optional features. This trail is great to take anyone (save for pure beginners) down as you can ride it at any speed and hit any feature/stunt within your limit. I hit pretty much everything except for the biggest drop (of which the landing is long and steep with padded trees for additional safety) and I'm not a big-hit type guy. Will try for another day here on Thursday pending the heat and hopefully will add in some more trails to extend the loop.
