north cinnabar and cinnabar are not the same place? which one do you mean?

Just a speculative fiction. No cause for alarm.

Thanks so much. I've gor the S. Chilcotin map + GPS so hopefully I can find where I'm going.

lick is easy to navigate to. cinnabar much less so, ime. last year we got lost for a bit even heading there with someone who'd done it before… once you're down in the basin i think you want to peel off right and cross the creek before you get into the trees - if you hit the horsepackers camp you've gone too far

Its very easy to get pulled into the other drainage. We found a trail through the camp, kind of behind the picnic tables and old frame.

i'm trying to think of variations of the climb up taylor for day-loops from tyaughton lake. anyone have thoughts on the following loop:

up gun creek -[HTML_REMOVED] over windy pass -[HTML_REMOVED] through eldorado -[HTML_REMOVED] down lick creek

too long of a day? variations that would improve it (considering traversing the ridge from windy and dropping into eldorado further south…)?

What do people use for weather forecasting out there. I've been using google, weather network and accuweather for Gold Bridge, but they are all so far from each other for next week…

I use Weather Network for Gold Bridge, then also use the Radar weather model to see what is forecast to roll through the areas I'll be.

just keep in mind that GB is a valley forecast which can be fairly different from the alpine. A cloudy day in the valley can be pretty hard rain/snow up high.

Yr.no is a fantastic wx site for obscure locations around the province. It's my go-to field work.

Good to know. Will stick to Lick Creek. Thanks.

Are you talking about Lick Ck being on the other side of the horse camp?

So anyone here have any info on crystal Lake?

About a year ago someone posted a multi-day trip report where they used Tyax's Skycamp cabin as part of their trip so they had to ride there and/or back.

Would take some searching to find the report unless someone remembers the one I'm talking about?
