Would anyone have any recommendations for a 2 or 3 day trip in the area? Going to be travelling light, and was thinking about potentially trying to head up Relay Creek trail and little paradise trail the first day, putzing around there (Tyoax/Elbow) on the second day and coming back through castle pass and tyaughton creek trail. Too much?

We'll have a 2wd vehicle and from the information on the Big Creek park website it seems like we might be able to make it to about 10km from the start of the relay creek trail (as marked on TF). Am I fooling myself? Will we make it to Tyaughton Creek Rec Site at least?

Thanks for any beta

It's actually an outback, so AWD but not very high clearance. Are those pictures before the trail itself, or is the trail an old road?

Thanks

that's the 'road' to the trail head….high clearance is definitely an asset

Hopefully this all melts. still want to get another couple of days in out there

After I saw your post I emailed Tyax Air. They said the snow line is above Warner and Spruce but there would probably be some snow in the passes. Should melt pretty quick.

at least 2 hours from Tyax Lodge to get to the end of the road, if there is no blowdown to clear or rocks to move off the road…It's super rad out there, very remote, very awesome!

Epic fly in to Warner last weekend. Organized a group of 10 including my 12 year old and unlike previous trips with smaller groups we had a lone flat as our only issue - unbelievable luck! Very windy in the AM but Jamie (Dale's new pilot) did a nice job keeping our breakfasts down. The youngling did great but slept well on the way home. The day before we rode the bottom of Cinnabar from the lodge which is a really great short warm up ride.

Here's my son near the Cowboy camp:

I've got a long weekend coming up and was thinking of heading to Tyax. Anyone have info on the snow line? Is it freezing at night?

Apparently camping at the lodge ends October 14, but we're planning to stay at the lake down the road.
