i can't speak for Tyax but Tyax Air surely can only benefit from the marketing.

unless bc parks stops allowing flights in

when they're flying almost daily and you go freeride off-trail and put some ruts down a slope you better do it very far from any of their normal flight paths. plus, people talk. especially the kind of enduro-bros who do this shit. really not too hard to figure it out.

I watched the video, I really didn't think it was that bad. There was no scree riding, no skidding and very little general douchebaggery. Theres been plenty worse in the past, and will be more in the future.

for sure. But if numbers multiply due to publicity, park policies may change for the worse.

anyway, this is a conditions thread so we should try to stick to that.

Respectively, disagree. I really have zero room to talk here given I’ve visited someplace once, but I’ll respond given I initiated the comment.

Give it 30 seconds from here

From a mechanical perspective, breaking your bike in some of those areas would mean spending the night (admittedly, probably not an issue for a group who’s toting filming gear). More obviously, ripping into blind corners shows a total disregard for the wildlife that inhabits those hills. There’s nothing like meeting a mother and cubs at 30mph.

It just puzzles me. If you want to go balls out, there are plenty of places to do that. Why do it in a Wilderness area? I’m sure Specialized had no idea that it was a protected area facing restricted access .

Meh, i would call that ridgeline riding, similar to what you find on the first part of ridge-o-rama and something that i have seen on multiple peoples blogs (people who no-one would accuse of being super bro brah) in different more remote areas of the park. That's how i see it.

For me there is quite a lot of grey area that is involved in the whole park. Why is it ok to ride ridgeorama which isn't on the map? Is it because there is now a trail there? Why was it ok to ride it before the trail was created and actually be the first people there? (I find it hard to believe that ridge-o-rama was created by people on horses).

I really like the area, and everyone who I have met out there has seemed super respectful of the environment that they are in.

When i first saw the video show up, I thought it was going to be a lot lot worse than that. It definitely didn't seem to sell it to the bike park crowd, it completely emphasized the remoteness/wilderness side of things, not epic gnarly high speed descents, at least that is what i got out of it.

lots of words and justification above.

bottom line, are these videos going to help or hurt the already tenuous access to the area? do they provide more ammo to the people who are campaigning to kick bikes out?

main trailhead at bottom of taylor is probably most popular…ride up to cabin, then you can split and either go left to camel pass, or right towards Windy/Spruce…

Heading up in a couple of weeks. How long does it take to grind up Taylor to the cabin? I'm keen to do Taylor Camel and Lick ck the day before our fly in. Thanks.

had another run at ridgeorama to cinnabar. Much nicer once you know where you are going at at the cowboy camp. Also found the better trail down to the creek crossing. After the deadfall section you do a hard right hander, nearly 180 degree turn. Then another downed tree. Instead of climbing over that tree, turn around and ride thru some grass and you will join the trail again. Seems like the grass/reeds have grown over the entrance to the trail, and then once it goes 10 feet trail appears again.
