It might sound cliché but we were joking about the fact that the less travel a bike has, the higher likelihood the rider's going to snub you when you say hello. This was indeed the case on Sunday.

Now that I think about it, this is absolute truth.

I think you're right on that one. The less travel people are the same ones that insist "Have to ride up Fromme instead of push".

I disagree. I spent a great deal of last summer riding Fromme on a 2001 Kona Stuff hard tail with Marzocchi Dirt Jam forks (I think 80mm) as a bit of an experiment to test some theories.

I still said Hi to everyone.

ps the experiment is over

I always say hello. When I started riding on the Shore there were so few riders that you always stopped and talked when you met someone else on the trail. Now a lot of people just snub you cause your wearing the wrong shorts or riding the wrong kinda bike. Ya mountain biking has really grown up. :crybaby:

Ya, I've never had attitude on Bridle either, people seem generally happy to be out there.

I always say hi to everyone I pass.

Once the snow warms up and turns to slush it will make a nice mash out of the top of the trail bed-probably the worst time to start shuttle punching all the work we just did this past season.
Good time to grab your snowboard and hit the local hills.

good luck with that!

Icy tonight. A little slick but perfectly ride able. Just watch the low branches as the snow has dropped them a bit more. I wonder what tomorrow will bring?

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

If you're stoked on water it's good to go:dizzy: Just a few slushy ice patches, but you can easily get up to severed etc. Creeks are raging, awesome!

Yeah, I answered my question by going and riding. A few icy patches here and there, and in places where there's no tree cover - but otherwise no snow or slush and everything's well drained. It was a good day!

There is a big deciduous tree (~12" diam) down on Bottletop. After the ridge traverse when it finally starts going downhill, it's right after the hard left hander that's been bermed.

Some lingering snow/ice on the open sections (powerlines, Fishermans, etc) but the lower trails are good to go. Super wet out there!
