New Years Day 2016:

Lower trails: freeze-dried, awesome traction.

Penny Lane / Good Sir Martin: 1st three quarters clear of snow. Upper bit of GSM has hard packed snow, all rideable.

Team Pangor: woodwork is icy, dirt is not. Good times!

Old Buck: clear and dry. Baden Powel from Old Buck: clear up to just below Incline exit. Packed snow thereafter.

New Severed Dick Entrance from the power line: some hard-packed snow, some freeze-dried dirt. All good traction.

Cunt Buster: some hard-packed snow until Asian Adonis branch. Cunt Buster is clear and dry from that point on down.

Thanks to all the trail fairies! Lots of people out enjoying your work today.

Asian Adonis and Forever After were running mint today. Everything I rode was in good shape, impressive after the weather of the past month.

yeah, but pre-recent snow reports. was wondering anyone has been out in the last couple of days. I don't think this snow is going anywhere…

How recent? I rode GSM and Severed on New Years Day…that was all perfectly rideable at the time.

For balance, I "rode" Cypress on Sunday and that was definitely not rideable but I was considerably higher and on much quieter trails (only a few hikers had been out to break trail…)

If people try to make a habit of posting changing conditions in Trailforks then we'll have the most recent information which is better then - what do you think the conditions will be like?

This is a great resource, can only be made better as more people contribute in an informative way.

The additional benefit to using Trailforks is the builder(s) on a trail can also set themselves up to get notification of each posting. So, if you report a tree that's fallen, there's a good chance it gets taken care of quickly.

Please be accurate in your description of location so we know to hike in either from the bottom or the top of a given trail.

The first two trees blocking Ned's will need a chainsaw to move. You have to lift your bike over them. The 2nd two could maybe me moved by a small army? Trail is a bit wet in spots, but other wise good to go.

Looks like a new trail (with a dbl black section option) has opened up connecting mid Severed to GSM! If it's not pissing rain too hard I'm going to have a look on Saturday.

There is no snow at the mushroom parking lot. All trails below mushroom parking are good to ride.
Neds: couple trees are down at the beginning of trail.
severed, c-buster, Pangor are good.

Got in a fun quick ride on Saturday afternoon. Climbed from Hyanis to GSM up to Severed. GSM was in perfect shape with only a bit of ice under the powerlines above BP. Severed was good to go.

Tried the new John Deer trail, short but very sweet. I did see a large group of riders that you might consider ENDUROBROS continue down the new trail that's still being built, right past the "please don't ride this" sign :(. Looking forward to seeing what that's all about when it's done.
