the "rule" per sey is that no new trails are allowed to be built without the land managers permission. was gnomer built with the land owner's permission? i'm not 100% sure, but i don't think it was. same fate for lola.

even though i've never ridden it from what i've heard i do agree that it's unfortunate that it's gone for the reasons you mentioned.

Gnomer descent was built by Mark Wood and Matt Preston in 2010-11. Was fun connecting ride from Aftertaste (another fun trail RIP).

Trail from Bridle Path is an old hiking trail. think ive seen it in hiking maps as old as early 2000s

Town hall this Wednesday would be the right place to find out the plan and ask questions.

There will be a trail day tomorrow on the steep entrance section of Severed. Please avoid this piece of trail if possible. Thank you.

If you'd like to lend a hand we're meeting at Old Buck lot at 9am. We'll give you a free lunch!

What's happening with that section of trail?

Ride, don't slide.

i didn't know that, but regardless of who built it if it wasn't approved by the land managers then it's susceptible to being closed. that's the same thing that happened to aftertaste. in the end it doesn't matter how long a trail has been around or how many maps it's on, if the land managers want to close a trail then they can.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Not true. Old informal trail that has been there for at least a decade.

ah my bad. Rode it when it was looking new around then.

Rode up to Neds today for the first time. What a fun trail, in good shape. I was worried that I'd get my ass handed to me, but my 5" 9er ate most of it up…imagine the speed I could take it using the DH bike…:fu:

thanks. Trailforks is the best place to report such problems. Just sign up to Pinkbike, and create a trail condition report.

I've already copied yours over.

Seymour Saturday May 2nd conditions:

TNT = running great. Better than ever. Nice work North Shore Bike Shop!
Upper Dales = a bloody mess. It seems like water has been running down the trail off the skid road.
Severed = super sweet.

Finally got a chance to ride Asian Adonis last night, wow, that is flow done right :). Really fun trail and thanks to all involved in it. Severed and C-Buster also running great. C-Buster/AA/Penny Lane/lower Severed and back to Old Buck parking lot was a perfect evening loop after getting stuck in awful traffic getting to the trailhead.

Did some general maintenance on Asian Adonis, no real issues after the event. We just added more dirt to sections that needed work before the race!
