anything that gets more people out on the trails is good. Currently, there are times when I'm riding and I don't see another rider for multiple seconds.

I'd rather "they" do something about the loose chunder-fest that is the bridal path immediately east of Empress…but I'm not sure thats actually BC Parks….

Its DNV. Don't count on them lifting a finger anytime soon.
The new work on the bottom of Severed is awesome. Thanks NSride, Different Bikes, Skip for their work on Sunday!

Thanks Stringaling, glad you like it.
It's a work in progress but we managed to build some good water management, close down the braid, open up a new easy line and add a new rock roll and a couple of drop options. We'll be continuing work in that area to finish that bit off in the next couple weeks.
The new easy line
a couple before/afters of the braid
yes, the old lines are still there! We built drainage for the straight shot so the spring no longer pumps water down it 24-7.
the new drop can be dropped over the log (below), over the rock in the back ground or rolled down the rock. Choose your own adventure!
Sustainable will be around forever.
A new rock roll you say? That will be closed down soon I guess.

Ride, don't slide.

Metro is not the land manager for Severed.
Severed is CHMC land managed which basically means it's a free for all.

BC bike race course is up now:

What is the trail that is connecting the powerlines to forever after? Is that just going down BP with a little connector over to forever after? Never ridden that chunk of BP since I thought it was a hiking only trail? Or is this a new trail that runs alongside BP?

Yup, that's what it is. I checked it out last week and it's seen some work but is still fairly chundery. That should be a good awakening for some on BCBR day 1.
Actually D(C), that's not quite right. The course is going in at the new entrance to Severed, then switching right at BP. It's been smoothed out a fair bit but it's still nice and techy. Then it switches to a new connector back to the powerlines for a very short section before dropping into Forever After.

Sorry, that's what I rode last week. Poorly communicated on my part. It makes for a nice linkup to FA. But yes, I do expect we will see a few people walking it on race day :D
