Also, the new work on Shorn is running great! Some cribbed bench brings it back to its original completely pumpable status. I launched over the roots on to CB with way more speed than anticipated.
nice

Well at least you don't need to drop your saddle anymore, once I forgot and rode front manual into shrubbery.
An excavator has made it's way up the powerline Hike-A-Bike from the bottom up to Forever After, has mowed down a big swath through the blackberry bushes, and flattened the trail. It's more rideable then it has been recently. Instead of just loose rock, it's all branchy a bit muddy and mixed with rock.
Still a giant grunt, and I think it would almost have to be paved for this guy to ride his bike up.

That's good news… having a climbing route up from the Hyannis area to Forever After will add some nice XC loop options so that you dont have to go the long way up OB, across BP, and then down Dales before hitting Forever After.
I tried to climb it the the other day and turned back after the first 100m
So…many…babyheads
Rode Old Buck over the Severed, Shorn, then over to Bottletop and back via Will Way (upward, oops.) HS, Salamander, Bridal, etc…
Was pretty sweet. Was glad to beat the weather.
Edit: Oh yeah, the trail crew with the excavators were re-building the bridge off of Old Buck, and a couple of excavators were still doing work up toward Pangor and Severed. Shaping up nicely. That climb is less soul crushing now.
Are there any washouts or blowdown after the weekends heavy rain storm? Please be our eyes and ears…
Nice new bridges on Old Buck! Smells like cedar.

i'm more curious if he was able to eliminate the straight down water flow line…
careful of the water seepage over the rocks on Forever After. The ice will probably be there until it rains…

Hmm. I wonder if the ground is frozen up there yet. I have a berm to finish.
Sustainable will be around forever.

Ground is pretty frozen up there… and will be more so after Friday when its supposed to get even colder.
You could see the ground shrinking away from the rocks on the newly renovated BP climb and the muddy tracks from Thursday I guess are crunchy and getting more frozen.
