Checked out the new entrance to Severed on the weekend. Some nice work there.

I'm a bit confused on the reason for building it though. Will the section of the BP that it bypasses eventually be restricted to bikes, or is it just there as another option?

Ride, don't slide.

It's just there as another option; no plans (that I'm aware of) to restrict that section of BP.

Nice! Always good to have options.

Sounds like great news to me - I was wondering what was going on with that section of OB recently… I don't know what it is but the OB climb always kills me (the last 25% before hitting Baden Powell is where I always lose steam)

dang, i was hoping they were going to make it steeper and more challenging.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

pffffft!

the reality is though that a better graded climb is a plus for the riding community in general as it may get more people riding up instead of shuttling up.

I don't totally agree, those who shuttle aren't gonna start climbing just cause it got easier, they are over here shuttling Seymour cause they don't want to push their bikes up fromme  (Yes I am joking - a little)

I personally hope they leave the old straight up line I liked to use it for interval training… Meandering just means it's gonna take longer to pedal up the mountain… now if it was an interesting single track climb, That'd be great… but it's not…

Use the road for intervals.

Part of the reason I hardly ride Seymour is that climbing up Old Buck just sucks.

With this and the upgraded BP I think we'll see more people climbing Seymour.

maybe we can get them to half bury a couple of logs across the trail somewhere to add a little bit of tech challenge for the climb up.

That'll ruin the flow,bro!

Anything but the old OB climb is a nice addition.

I'm all for streamlining that climb. Now when climbing OB as it reaches the BP it's easier to convince myself not to take a break knowing that after that first armoured bit it's all smooth sailing.
