The LSCR officially closed Aftertaste last December.
the work done on the traverse/boggy part of severed was a treat to see! looks like it was well done, and especially after a summer of being packed down will totally improve that part of the trail :woot:
High School Trail is sweeeet bermy pumpy goodness.
+1

Everywhere I rode was great today. Did bump into one of the NSMB crew being videoed on a trail but I felt waaaaaay too much of a prat to say "Hi I'm Walleater!". Thanks for being so understanding though :D

wow you are a ass
Ahahaha man you should have said hi!
Ah, I did think it might have been you but I could only see a couple of eyes and hint of nose :D
Hope you got some good shots. Seemed like the perfect day for it, even though I was a pussy and also didn't want my hound nailing herself!

Couple of trees down on Cabin Trail if anyone happens to be walking past there with a chainsaw. CBC is running good, lots of blowdown in the bushes from the winter, gives it a weird look. Lets more sunshine in though!
I rode Bottletop for the first time in about 3 weeks and it looks like it's getting the gold treatment as well. Very nice!
"Rode" Lola yesterday. The metro took the chainsaw to a good portion of the structures. The structure drop before the creek gaps have all been removed.
I was told that those structures were removed simply because they were built out of Hemlock and were considered unsafe by Metro Van for long term use. There's a good chance everything will be rebuilt with cedar and the trail will remain.

Walked it today. Truly a said day for north shore biking.
Will be rebuilt. There may be some changes - but I'm hoping to restore everything to original. Getting cedar is going to be a royal B-I-T-C-H though….the only reason I used hemlock was there were no good deadfall cedar stringers anywhere around there. Im hoping that storm last winter produced some good material. So far I haven't cut a single tree yet.
Props to the land-owners for their approach to managing this. I fully support them in their right to make the decision to get rid of the hemlock.
be up there tomorrow afternoon beginning the search for moar cedar. itll be real hot. I will need cold beers.
I'm ignoring Smedley.
Awesome to hear dub. Good attitude to take from both sides.
Great work on one of the lower eroded sections of bottletop!
