Beers
When you say Swakum, do you mean the trail down to the flag pole or the trail with the jump over the fence?

We were planning a trip up in a couple of weeks but sounds like logging has made a mess of the midday trails http://www.merrittmountainbiking.com/Merritt_Mountain_Biking/Coutlee_Trails.html. Are there many trails at Swakum. My map only shows a couple. I would guess that Iron mtn is not ridable yet. Maybe in a couple of weeks?

a month ago midday had lots of deadfall, and logging around the lower parking area; so it makes sense to be careful (maybe weekends only), or stay out altogether.
Swakum only has the trails on the map..but for a great XC riding area head to Lundbom Lake..Great camping and trails from your campsite.

You can also play around the back of the info centre for an hour or two..Godey Creek is prime.

Some colleagues of mine rode the lower half of Iron Mt recently…said they had a lot of fun. They also rode an area I'm not familiar with just SE of town, said it was good to. Not really much snow to speak of immediately close to town. Anything that's left should get burned off by the end of next week for sure.
The trails up at Lundbolm Lake are excellent right now. Twisty fast open ranchland xc stuff if your lungs need to be opened up a little.

some friends have been kickin it on a road that meets up near three shot willow in iron, which is about half way. they said the roads pretty greasy but the trails mint. very slim chance top half will be ready, snow spots are still visible from town. swakum and a new trail threw the burn on the opposite side of the coquihalla from iron are the titties right now
