Beautiful ride today. The light drizzle sufficiently moistened the trails to give them a bit of grip. The dry spell and the rain also caused a huge needle drop from the trees so the trails are nicely covered and almost "loamy". I closed off one strange braid on Bloggy Style (it bloggles my mind why someone would braid an otherwise simple area of trail).

Demonmike, if you come across a braid, feel free to drag a bunch of logs and rocks to block it off. I will also replace some of the rung on the bridge (sometimes called bigwork) on lower shotgun this fall and re-nail the loose rung if they don't fix themselves when they get wet again….wish someone hadn't taken the spare rung Dean and I had left there last year.

To the two guys shuttling today in the Woodlot who ignorantly continued to shuttle after being told by several people that unauthorized vehicle access was restricted:

The FVMBA trailbuilders have a very good working relationship with the Woodlot managers. NO Woodlot builder or regular rider wants people shuttling the trails.

The management does not have the authority to restrict personal access to the Crown Land but they do have the authority and have reserved the right to restrict vehicle access to the Woodlot they licence.

Mmmm, maybe. Hard to tell what's the truth based on the lies they gave three different people.

I will pass this on to Woodlot management who has their licence plate and is looking into the matter.

Apparently there was a Graham truck shuttling riders at Burke last weekend above the gun club.

ya i guess trails like Shotgun are getting too technical and rough for those 200mm+ travel DH bikes so they have to make then sidewalk smooth like the trails in the bike parks

on my way home from Red today ( 2 pm ish) i noticed a group of 4 to 5 dirt bike riders at the entrance gate at 0007 , they where all decked out like they where doing The Dakar Rally from their outfits and big dollar dirtbikes , hopefully they did not abuse any of the trails like others have done in the past .
