Thought I might as well start a summer thread even though it's still winter conditions.

Was up all afternoon with Brother Lu and hiked down covered in mud and sawdust, soaking wet, all I wanted was the BEvERage I had hidden in the creek on Shotgun only to find that some selfish individual had STOLEN it! Thanks alot scumbag, I hope trail karma comes back to haunt you.

Today the snow started around Snakes and Ladders and was sticking above Upper Toadstool. No appreciable amounts though and the trails were fine.

^ Yup. Snow was sticking at the fresh clearcut where you turn up the road to get to the blood donor road gap. Trails were clear. A bit muck but clear. We avoided Hekyll though since the ground was pretty saturated. Plati is still in decent shape considering it's age…

If I wanna keep my testicles then I'll have to say no.

you don't need em any more…theyre just for aesthetic appeal now.

I'm ignoring Smedley.

this post was the biggest reason I chose to take the weekend off and give the trails a break. Melting snow plus rain equals hyper saturated ground equals maximum trail damage.

those trails don't fix themselves

Nice and tacky up there today ! some crazy frost on Shotgun clear-cut. Karpenter is a fucking mess……re-named it today to Dead Karpenter.(temporarily anyways)

cheers!

Seems obvious but there's about 10" of snow on the trails mid-mountain. Theres much more on the road up, but someone drove up this morning so there's packed tracks to walk in.
Shotgun didn't have as much, but was still covered.

The snow was slushy and sucked to ride in. It's probably all crusty and bad to ride in now though. I'd recommend doing something else for the next little while.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the snow should be clear by this weekend. Warm temps and rain this week.

Hiked in today to do a bit of work. The trails were damp but in decent shape. Any clearcut section was still snow/ice/slush as well as the section of Shotgun below the clearcut to the parking lot. Hope that helps.
