Kamloops is a cool area to ride, but unlike almost every other town in the province, I find the trails are hard to find…or maybe it's just me??
Between KBRA through dew drop and other initiatives through the city and other groups it looks like the community as a whole is starting to get things together to make the area a little more friendly to out of towners with actual maps.
Anyone ride Greenstone mtn anymore? Worth it on DH bikes? Maybe the trail network has grown since I last rode there in 2007?
There are a couple lower trails on Greenstone now that are great, from the top there is two - maybe three trails (I've only ridden the old fullboar DH track).
The old full boar course is a bit of a mess, up top the old burnt trees have all been coming down - we went up there and cleared the whole section 2 summers ago but it's probably jackstrawed with fallen trees again. Below that there is a section that has been replaced by a cut block. All in all that area needs a lot to get ridable again.
Thanks for the update. Looks like the usual zones will be hit this easter.
Errr, I don't wanna step on anyone's shoes here, but can one of the Kamloops local PM me. I'm after road conditions to access a semi well known trail. (Its on strava and you tube!) and I know how to access the trail, I'm just not sure whether I need a 4x4 with good clearance whether a little SUV (Xtrail) will do. BTW, its not a Harper trail…

If its a well known trail then just spit it out. Lolo can be done in a car. Prob to much snow still.
Bone collector…

I visited Lolo last summer (2013). Went right to the top where the gliders launch. Not sure of the trail name(s) but we did lots of hiking, NO riding. Tons of blow down [HTML_REMOVED] there were cut block ribbons [HTML_REMOVED] logging equipment parked everywhere. There was a "development" in progress @ the bottom where we parked [HTML_REMOVED] the trail comes out. Probably less pretty now.
Harper: I can see snow @ the top still!
Greenstone: July 1 is a good start date if you want to go to the top [HTML_REMOVED] not slog through snow/water.
There's a dirt road climb more or less to the top but you'll need to figure out where to turn off the dirt road. I had a gps with me when I rode it 2 yrs ago but I don't recall any signposts….
Cheers! I'll give it another shot sometime soon.

Good to hear…it's been a long time coming.
Greenstone a few days ago…from near the Dew Drop area
The road up on top of the Dew Drop tonight…
No-go a week ago…manageable snow now.
Thanks for sharing. Brings back some good memories of early season rips in the snow.
