I almost didn't make it UP Mtn Highway on Saturday. There was a big patch of ice across the road near the lower gate and I got off to walk over it and next thing I know, I'm sliding backwards down the road using my bike as an outrigger. Went a good fifteen feet before I was able to angle myself over to the curb. Sheesh!!

Not sure about the trails but you hit continuous snow about 3/4 of the way up the first switch back on Seymour. It looks like there is about 1m of snow in the bush at the base of CBC.
Corkscrew down is good…. Fromme is not worth going up.

I rode Corkscrew/Neds on Sunday, and there was a some remnant snow on Corkscrew, was wet down to the bridge over the stream, then dry from there on.
That said it rained all monday…..but you will be snow free if you stick to Neds, Pingu Pangor etc.
thanks newgirl
me and a few buddies were planning on riding those trails this sunday.
just wondering where the snow was at.
i rode bridal path last friday and things seemed clear, just wasn't sure how high the snow actually was.
Tue Mar 24 Fromme: clear to first switch then hike a bike to Bobsled. Went down it and it was clear. A friend rode Tue morn and said it was a sludge of a hike up to Espresso but the trail down was all good.
^^^ hmmmmm, a sludge (slog + trudge?) might be in order one of these days…
I wonder if Grouse will excavate like they did last year
Anyone cleared the upper trails yet? Wouldn't mind taking a hike up there this w/e with a hand saw.
When I hiked up Fromme a few weeks ago Pink had only a small blowdown on it and was in otherwise good condition. Less snow than Pipeline which also had 4 major trees down on it. I had been moving some of the smaller branches on Pipeline and Pink but gave up when I saw the major trees on Pipeline. Of course we've had more snow and wind storms so all bets are off on how much extra blowdown is there now.
Trails are likely mostly ridable - it's just getting to them!
Much praise if you go up to clear the trails but I'm not sure a hand saw would be much use.
If anybody needs wood, drive up Seymour. The amount of trees on the side of the road that have been cut down would give the frog lady warts.
