not even a trace at the 5th or in the forest immediately above it, haven't been higher than that for a little while.

We're thinking of coming up next Tuesday and planning to only start as high as Pipeline - is it snow free? We're coming from Seattle so it wouldn't be worth it to come if it's sketchy with snow and ice but down here we've had a dry spell for about a week and more dry days ahead.

Thanks.

You can get all the way to 7th on Fromme no problem on the road right now. The freezing level is really low, so all the woodwork is covered with a sheet of ice right now, plus a lot of the rock is icy as well.

All that said, it could snow, or it could warm up between now and then. Keep your eyes on the temp and the weather. when in doubt, check the temp on the Grouse Mtn Ski Report (www.grousemountain.com), that will give you an idea of where the freezing level is at.

i'm pretty sure the only reason the oly is open is because of snowmaking. it's pretty hurtin right now.

Fromme was pretty sweet yesterday (boxing day). Traces of snow on the fire road around the 5th switchback, none on the trails I rode. Epic type day.

Yesterday, there was little to no ice to speak of. Rode Crinkum Crankum and some lower trails for the first time and had a good ride.
The woodwork did not seem any more slippy than normal so I don't think it was too icy or frosty.

There was a temperature inversion for a few days (when we had the fog), so it was about 5 degrees at the top of 7th. No ice on anything I rode, rock or wood, on the 26th and 27th.

Today the inversion is gone and they are getting light snow on Grouse, so it should be changing pretty quickly now.

It was stellar this past weekend

Could be a little snowy this week but it doesn't sound too threatening

Just been hiking up Boundary/Pink Starfish/Dreamweaver area and no snow or ice at all. All woodwork looks nice and dry. Wish I'd taken the bike!
