Can't believe how few people are out riding.
Lower Seymour was hopping on Sunday. I'd imagine more people are heading there than Fromme to take advantage of its lower (snow-free) elevation.

Cbennett; Would like to know if you were riding on top of crust (expecting to break thru at any time) or sinking down into the snow? I think people are either skiing or boarding or not going out because only lower trails are rideable. Weather network says it's gonna warm up, so should all be slush shortly.
Yeah as was mentioned earlier top 100m or so was pretty un-ride-able only because it's so flat and there's a few trees down. There wasn't really any breaking through crust as it's pretty solid. Touring right now (at least on Cypress) sucks balls so I figured I'd bike. Be aware of the cascading ice flows down the rock faces too, those are pretty treacherous.
^above the rock roller coaster^
The roots were just a bit slick tonight…..
Nice riding today, and lots of people out. Bobsled, Floppy Bunny, NH and Immonator are in great shape. Kirkford starts at just the edge of the snow line and is also riding really nicely. The road gets quite snowy after the 3rd sb. I went up to 4th to try to sneak into Ladies but got freaked out and turned around. There are a couple trees down on Mountain Highway and one on Cedar Trail, but nothing that affects riding experience.
Pipeline is now clear of all blow downs. I would say you could ride about 90% of the trail with the little snow that is left.
Also one wood structure had to be decommissioned until we can get in and replace it. You will see the signs.
Cheers!

Wow that's commitment. Cheers! Might actually drag out the ATB for the first time in a couple of months and head up there.
treezz
wow you are a ass
still heaps of snow on 5th switch back, about 80% of 4th is in snow as well. Really deep snow if your foot digs into it
tree down on 2nd and 3rd switch back

Lower Ladies
"Huge tree down at the really tight/steep corner about halfway down"
those trees look super similar to ones that were down in almost the same spots about a month ago…. very odd….
Ladies from the 4th SB, about 100m in/down from there, the loose fall line section next to the creek/ravine there are still a bunch of trees down, a chainsaw is needed.

Is the snow line still at 4th sb?
On Sunday, there was a bunch of snow at 3rd SB, pushing required. Then the road was clear til the 4th, then a bunch of snow and patchy but thick past there on the road. In the trees it was clear around the 4th SB dusting and patches above that….
Cut into Ladies 3rd sw bck. 6 inch diameter tree down. Next time up ill cut it down. The re rout is getting chewd. looks bad.
The tree would make a nice stringer.
Ladies was sweet. wood is grippy in the wet.
Bit of snow on the road but its just in patches.
common sense…..Whats common about sense?!
Please, let Digger deal with that.
I was going to do it today. Understood. I will leave my saw at home.
