wow, those bridges weren't very old, circa 2003.
hope mine last longer than that!

stringers are always the first to go. make them fat, and make them cedar with no bark.

that's one of the reasons why the NSMBA started making giant plank bridges on the shore.

PS - stringers are the logs that the rungs are nailed to.

not really related
but what is with the sweeping and raking of Peuguoet? To tell the District that it should also be considered a grandfathered trail? after all it was one of the first popular trails prior to the freeride movement

You referring to that upper section? I don't think it's been raked/swept.

Riding down that section creates a mini sonic boom behind you and the vortex created by the sonic boom blows all the little twigs off the trail.

oh, and IMO 7-8 years is a pretty long time for a bridge rotting away in the forest to last unless it's built like a tank.

I use Stealth technology, so it wasn't me.
Yes, I'm referring to the upper upper section, not Air Supply.
Its freakily beautiful anyway, I'm wondering if it could also be for some innovative photography or off-road extreme lawn bowling.

strange as it may be to see some buff unfucked sections of trail in north van, they do exist!

(unfucked is the new loamy)

If you know the section tap and I am referring to it does seem like a pleasant gnome came in and actually swept this section clean to perfection. It's always been good, just seemed one day it went from great to billiards table of awesomeness.

Ha,Ha, I had a good laugh this morning.
I went up what I think is Peugeot and sure enough, I found a green plastic rake leaning against a tree. Up hill from the rake the trail was all buffed out, but below the rake the trail is the usual sticks, twigs and needles. I guess the trail fairies are working from top to bottom.
