Ran across this Photoshopped image. Bike Trails aside, how can this possibly happen given all the environmental uproar that happens in this province? Permits/infrastructure is still needed for private land.

Many water issues building up that high. Lots of pumping to get water to those heights. Lots of added runoff from all those hard surfaces means the need for larger storm drains below.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

Old news. It turns out that the Hollyburn Ridge cabin owners have the right to replace their log cabins. The first 30-story condo tower at the 4th switchback has been visible for months.

The only restriction is a ban on inside plumbing, so they have the world's first 30-story outhouse!

That is a lot of multi million dollar homes to sell.

How would all those new people get out of their neighbourhood?

Without massive infrastructure improvements, that kind of development is not realistic.

Check your e-sarc meter. Looks like it's malfunctioning.

Dammit, the setting was switched to 'Grumpy Skeptic'.

4” of slushy snow up the road to mystery and a slushy slick ride down for the first half. The west side is running well, with snow at the trail head but generally trails are snow free.

Those of you that know this structure will understand why the whole trail created a problem in an area where the land manager has asked for no structures. This fully qualifies as a structure.

In an effort to make peace with the LM, some dedicated builders will be removing structures on the trail in the not too distant future.

The LM has also asked for no new trails until there's a plan for the area. Expect other new trails to be decommissioned, but this one will be continue to be ridable sans structures.

Is this the beginning of the end for the trails on Cypress?

Stunt shown in picuture doesn't even exist anymore. I am pretty sure the builders took it down in order to be accommodating to land manager.

My prediction is this trail will lose all its fun factor, then other trails owned by LM manager such as Sex Girl, Roaches, Tall Cans etc will follow and lose what has made them great rides for the experienced rider.

Get out the hard tails, Cypress is getting dumbed down! Congrats North Shore you've managed to go from being one of the most epic riding areas to an area catering the beginner to intermediate. Trails for All….BS!

Time to move somewhere out of the lower mainland where one can own a house and ride trails for all levels…. Enjoy Cypress, Mr. Owner of 3 million dollar house, that is empty because you don't live here, you are overseas!!

nope, Family Guy was the beginning of the end.

er, nope, the end of Mystery to 21st was the beginning. I can't even remember the trail name…

actually, when the crown sold out to get a bridge from downtown was the beginning of the end.

RippersLounge, the trail that is in question was built outside of a verbal agreement that there would be no new trails built on Cypress. Existing trails (including sex girl, roaches, tall can) are under negotiation. Please show your support for Cypress and attend the open house later this month. Efforts are under way to save existing trails. See Alan B’s post earlier in this thread for more info.

" the trail that is in question was built outside of a verbal agreement that there would be no new trails built on Cypress."

Are you sure about that??? Why did the builders keep changing trail to accommodate the LM then? I saw them working on the trail a number of times, re-doing their hard work in order to please the LM.

I think that trail is called Stupid Grouse.
