Ended up in Cumberland after only one day at Mt Washington. Kids were done with skiing. Worked out great, had a map from friends in Campbell River and also met up with some great folks from Courtney / Comox that kept us on the right path.

Climbed up some of the trails rather than all the road on the road. Kids were pretty much done by the time we hit Teapot. Rode Teapot to Dam trail, then around the back of the lake to an atv trail which appears to labelled Swamp Monster (or something like that). We were going to ride it but were not sure on where it came out as it was not on the map we had. Climbed up the short hill to Crafty Butcher. Myself and kids had an absolute blast. Had to push back up the hill a number of times so the kids (and me) could hit the stunts again, all the while the wifey was looking nervous as the kids were rolling the stunts. Wall ride was def one of the favorites. Ended with Black Hole onto Space Nuggets.

Big thumbs up to the cvmtb organization, fantastic trails. Will be back again to explore some higher trails.

Sounds like a solid day with the kids… Did a long ride yesterday and conditions were mint!

Teapot is a UROC production that dam trail, crafty butcher are both River Rats work.

It's a fun place to live and ride!

United Riders of Cumebrland Facebook page is good to go for updated info

Trails are all good. Come on over.

Site forums are quiet basically because of the connections from Facebook.

Trails are pretty wet and greasy right now. Expect it to get worse over the week if the weather forecast is accurate.

Being cheap is OK. Being a clueless sanctimonious condescending douchebag is just Vlad's MO.

finally rode cumberland for the first time this past weekend, went there for our worca board retreat. tons of fun - some new stuff, some very new (not yet done) stuff, some old. nice low-angle terrain makes for effortless climbing and fun brake-less descending, such a nice change from around here. didn't get to the other side of the lake (forbidden plateau), next time. thanks for all the trailwork!
