Was thinking of hitting up Bear/Red all mountain trails Jan 3rd. Anyone know where the snow line is or what the trail conditions are like? Thx!

I was going to do that ride today, but skipped it as that damn snowfall on thursday kabashed that….

Check out FVMBA website, but I think there is probably a couple inches on the road on the way up. There was mention of icy conditions on the trail as well. I figured no point risking a stupid crash on ice….

Snow line? Somewhere around 7th ave.

My advice is to choose Red over Bear at the moment.

What the heck is an all mountain trail?

"All mountain" is what downhillers do when they don't want to admit to riding xc:)

Here are some pics from Thursday on Red.

Well then you're shit out of luck:

Arduum/Bear DH course = DH trails
everything else = XC trails

there's a heavy rainfall warning for the area overnight and the ground's still frozen, so i'd hazard a guess that it'll be nasty this weekend.

It has been raining out here so much the last two days I had to bring my work tools in and spread them all over the floor to dry out tonight.

Went up Red this morning.

Snowing all the way up the road to Big Red, up 2-3 CM. If it wasnt for this morning snow, I bet it was bare as I didnt come across any crunchie crunchie old snow. I am betting it will melt if it stays warm this afternoon.

Trails very wet on Big Red. One tree down, but I easily moved it off….

Red rider, Momentum also had snow but maybe 2 cm. of fresh. Lots of water moving under the bridges.
