Tom and I drove up Sumas with our chainsaws yesterday to clear some blow down. There was too much snow still. So we went to Ledgeview, The snow line is about halfway up. We cleared some trees along the way. The trails have suffered a lot of water damage and erosion. One positive outcome of the current recession is property development will stop saving some trails for a couple of years

^^^^ U callin me a liar JM? 11:00 am and there is still ice on the windshield of my truck. Its parked in the shade and im on the south side of the hill. Clear, sunny and cool. Shaded grass still frosty, the stuff in the sun is soaked but not frosted no more.I had hiked from claybourne side (North side ) thursday and there were slides on both sides of the road some snow patches and the leaves are holding the moisture in on the ground. It was wet. I did not hike the south side of the hill, freeway side. Nothing that stays shaded drys all day im betting. I did not hike up hi enough to experience the temp inversion u felt. U want to ride it? Giver dude. Im not callin the area dry for a bit though. Maybe sunday i will hike higher or get the bike on the south side. Should be murder on the stale legs and lungs.

WTF, Over?

Ride tomorrow at 8 on ledgeview before the trails thaw out. I took the chainsaw up this morning and cleared some trails. There has been a few riders up there. I sure wish they would stop and remove some fallen trees while they are riding alot of them are cleared without a chainsaw

Stop riding to clear trails? No way Brah…too busy shredding!

What's the only thing worse than being on call the first nice weekend in a month…being on call and having zero service calls. Oh well at least I got a good road ride in this afternoon.

Rode up to Timekiller and hiked pushed carried down to the cabin. Still very deep and soft snow. From the cabin down was fantastic. Some snow patches but most areas clear and DRY! Temperature at the clearing was 8 degrees and down to 2 at the bottom.

There is a tremendous amount of trees down all over the top clearing before you get to the cabin, Had to hike over and under to get past. Removed as much blowdown from the trail as possible by hand and a hatchet.

I don't have time for both. One or the other for me, so if both is the plan, let me know and I'll drive my own truck.
