Ya think it's new. The old ramp was only half way up the rock and steeper.

Was hiking on Lower Oilcan the other day, wow, it is like a super highway, 6 lanes wide the whole way down. In a lot of spots, the drainage ditches have become the main riding lines, it looks really messy to me. Is anybody in charge of taking care of that trail, even just shutting down the braids would be a massive improvement, but IMHO it's been getting worse and worse.

I don't have a Trailforks account (since Outside has taken it over), so I cannot comment there. Used to be able to comment on Trailforks with a PB account, but no more, so I guess I am out, being the luddite that I am.

Its clear to the top.

I did a ride up No Quarter yesterday and there are a few patches of fresh dirt on the bottom half that are have turned into peanut butter with the rain we've had. Most of the trail is in good shape, but it might be worth giving it a miss till the weekend to allow the fresh work to firm up.

There's a dusting of snow today when you punch out onto the road at the top of No Quarter. 

How icy are we talking today? Rideable or shitshow?

It hasn't been above zero on the shore even at sea level for quite some time, everything will be frozen solid 

Frozen is more rideable than slushy and not as potentially damaging to trail beds though, I'd say go get some. 

Obviously be aware that wood or rock with any indication of moisture will likely be glare ice.

I was hiking on Cypress yesterday.

Below ~ 500m, there was no snow and conditions were (more or less) ideal.

Above ~ 500m, there was a weird thin layer of frozen snow. I'm not sure how grippy it would have been to ride (i.e. turn or brake!) as it was quite solid but not enough to require spikes on my boots. Anyway, it would have been very hard/impossible to ride up and, unless it was steep, pretty hard to ride down (you'd have to pedal downhill).

Anyway, the trail I was hiking on had previously had a stream running down it which was solid, thick glare ice which would have been lethal to ride (not even my dog could walk on it - he went ass over tit when he tried to run across it 😄😄). 

So be VERY wary on any trails which usually have water running across or down them as those sections are likely lethal.

These weren't popular biking trails so hadn't had much traffic (foot or bike) on them...
