Out for a quick rip today and came across a fatality on Breamar . Where Dempsey meets the top of For the kids climb. First responders were trying to resuscitate the rider but looked like they were unsuccessful. What happened I don't know, and didn't want to ask in respect of the situation.  Hate to see that.... If I was going to guess it was probably a heart attack. who knows....

Good reminder to get some first-aid and CPR training - you could end up saving the life of a riding buddy.

Since it has warmed up just as of today, I think it's going to be soup for a while, until either everything melts and gets a chance to run off, or it cools off and everything freezes up again.

Didn't there used to be a "Where's the snow line" thread?  I swear I remember seeing that but gave a quick look and didn't see it.  It may be worth brining that back as Trailforks does not often include that information in their "reports".

Maybe this is the year.

Huge tree fell at the Bobsled spur exit right across mtn highway and into the the parking lot down ramp. It just tore out of the ground which may be an indicator of just how much earth got shifted during the rains. Lots of spooky noises as massive frozen lumps of snow rain from the sky off of branches and then branches rain from the sky. May have to wear a helmet just for a walk. There's a lot of big dead trees waiting to come down.

I went for a walk in Princess Park where I grew up and the fall all around was bad.  Many years ago I bought a portable swede saw from MEC for tree fall and think taking it along with me in the near future will be on the list.  I think it will be bad all around to say nothing of the wind expected today.......

All lower trails are in great shape.

as of today - road is clear (except for the 5th corner) up to ladies; didn't go any further (fully covered with a few inches beyond & as far as I could see; may only be an extended localized patch?). anyways, apart from a couple small patches @ the top, ladies was clear & in fine shape. also, above the fog bank, which is nice.

It's weird how dry the trails are to be honest.  Some snow on the road at Pipeline, but the trail is basically clear.  Maybe a couple pockets of snow on the trail in the first 30 seconds or so but after that it is absolutely perfect.
