Anyone know the current snowline? Are the trails below the 3rd switchback free of snow?
There's no snow on trails below the 4th switchback!
Trails were minty over the weekend, lots of grip and barely and mud spots
BLT unrideable at and above the power station but it is melting now. I hike a biked up.
UTC fully snow covered but rideable.
anyone know why the ramp on wutang was taken out?

See the reports section. And feel free to sign up and add new reports of your own, its a great resource!
Is there a way to ride that section without the ramp? I've never bothered to look for a b-line or anything, just blasted down the ramp. I guess you might be able to huck it (lol) but I've never looked at it like that before.
I'm not hucking off that rock anytime soon. just checked out trailforks report. I ride that ramp 3-4 times a week, can't say I noticed it was in bad shape. seemed pretty sturdy to me.
Is it normal for trail users to take it upon themselves to rip out features?
So I think what happened here is some newbies to Cypress thought it was unsafe as it was leaning. So took it upon themselves to try and fix by putting in support rocks. But when these gave way it made the whole ladder collapse further.
There are ride arounds if you know where to look. It's not the way I usually head out anyway as there are better options. But sucks that its now unridable.
i fixed the ramp about 3 summers ago, after somebody had torn it out. I added slats and re-nailed the existing ones, plus added rock at the base for the run out. I haven't been out there since the closures, so I won't be doing anything to fix it again anytime soon.
If somebody else wants to step up....
Yeah, if I get the time I'll get to it, even though I never use that route really.
You should be able to put it together with a a few long spikes and a hatchet/axe. Just need to get a good piece of wood under the riders right side of the 2 logs at the top edge. You may need to flatten/taper one side to sit solid/evenly on the rock.
As you know the bridge going out to the down was never level. Without rebuilding the whole thing from scratch, I couldn't get it to level last time either, so I wouldn't fuss about that.
I take it, you normally go out on Layne's trail.
Yeah, I wouldn't be rebuilding from scratch. I'll keep the off camber cypress sketchy ness.
Can't say where I usually head out as it's not on a map. But let's just say it involves plenty of rockfaces.
let me know if you need a hand.
i'm more handsome than handy, but I could always bring beer and watch.
