@CraigH Have you spent anymore time up around Tyaughton Creek this year? Just wondering on its status up to castle pass would be.

Thanks for all the work you have been doing out there!

Lower Tyaughton Creek report:

I've heard of second hand reports of people going though that 4km stretch from the cowboy camp intersection and to where we stopped clearing so it is possible to get through. Carry a folding saw though, trees coming down now are big.

We weren't able to finish it because of outside forces...

Thanks for the reply!

Is that area closed due to the fires? I had look at my map and its hard to tell if its part of Big Creek Prov Park or something else.

(Sorry for all the questions, just don't want to be a dick and accidentally access closed areas up there)

Sorry about the delay in responding, was away for last week.

Big Creek Park is closed, but SCMP is open.

Tyaughton Creek is mostly in SCMP. I've been told Paradise Creek is in the "Mining and Tourism Area" outside of SCMP so it managed by BC Recreation Trails and Sites but they don't list the trail on their site.

There is an evacuation order on the Cariboo Regional District side, which includes Lone Valley & Prentice Lake (off the end of the Relay Road & Mud FSR) so that trail is closed.

The boundary between Big Creek and SCMP is also the boundary between the Cariboo Fire Center and Kamloops Fire Center.

I've seen varying reports of smoke in Bridge River Valley & SCMP, depends on weather/wind conditions, some days aren't bad.

Finally popped my Chilcotins cherry. Did a float plane drop in Warner Lake to Gun Creek and then a shuttle/pedal up Taylor Creek through Camel Pass down High Trail and the Tyaughten Lake trails. Wow, mind is blown, what a place... can't wait to go back. Super sandy and dry on the lower trails, bit better up high.
