It isn't so much the alcohol consumption i was referring to. It is more the image he is projecting of himself. Not a single one of you has taken into account the fact that he has covered his entire arm in graphics of a firey cardgame between some skeletons.

So I guess you do not like the whole NWD series and STUND and whatnot just because of the image that is portrayed?

NWD: intros and the way the athletes are portrayed.

STUND: Super T and Romo kill a bottle of some cocktail and are more than buzzing.

Personally, I do not like it either, but hey, I was at a NOFX gig when I was like 16 and got so pissed that I needed my posse to get back home - so who am I to argue?

I sort of agree with you, the bad ass image is getting pretty old. Kinda of killing slopestyle image. You dont have to be an idiot to be cool, but then again I'm not cool…

I get what you're saying, every time that guy opens his mouth I cringe…..but hey, lucky for me I can, and do, fast forward through all his video parts…..wait, I don't even FF them, I just skip to the next segment…..the "I'm so hardcore" image is lame…..luckily douchebags like that typically don't ride trails out in the forest….

imo image 2 certainly justifies image 1.

When you bust this stuff all day:

You party hard at night. Plus I have zero issues with Andreu's insanely cocky attitude. Imo there's nothing wrong with cockyness being commensurate with skillz…

I am referring to the first picture. Am I missing something here? I understand the kid is talented at dirt jumping but where is the management? Whoever is in charge of this guy is bordering on immorality and irresponsibility. It's like he is living in some dream bubble where it's halloween 365 days a year. Like, one second he is this little spanish ripper and the next he is nikki sixx on a kona. Did he just see a motley crue video and go "wow, that's awesome, I am going to base my life around this spontaneous impulse"? This picture is like ozzfest meets a frathouse at some shitty state school meets crankworx.

Who the fuck are you?!!!

as if skull tattoo's, booze and dicky shorts are that hard core, or means that yer trying to be nikki six. thats pretty much the look of choice at any moto, skate, etc contest.

seriously what is your problem? I have tattoos, drink whisky and own a couple pair of dickies. Does that make me immoral?

not to throw stones or anything, but you come accross like the lamest douche imaginable.

^ I agree w/ you there. Maybe it's a cultural thing? I know that many Germans
may come off as being cold, but that's just a difference in language and translation.

The Spanish tend to be very loud and boisterous, but not intended in a real negative
way. Being that my family is from Spain, his behavior seems just like some kid
that is having a good time. And, he can lay it down like no bodies business so
he's backing it up. See, when Bass first started out, I though he was cocky in
his interviews, with a "I'm the best" attitude, I'm told he's not, so I chalk it up
to different cultures.

He's on top of the world right now, history shows it'll be a short ride, so let him
enjoy it…and his tattoos…and the partying.

Look, even if he "comes off as a d-bag", he can still party hard at night and seem like "a stupid friggin idiot" and still take care of business the next day and throw down no matter what. I can name countless facebooks have photos that make people look like a wannabe badass or whatever. It's easy to jump to conclusions about one person's night after one photo.

If you're looking at the professionalism aspect of the sport and wanting to progress into more of a mainstream audience/sell out, then yeah maybe the rockstar imagine won't help.

But from another viewpoint, many people are envious of the life these guys live. I mean look, travel around, riding your bike, having an awesome time and attending great events/parties all the time. Who wouldn't want that?

I've heard this about Cedric Gracia too. Industry folk who work with him marvel at his ability to drink and party into crazy hours of the night but then perform at a top level the next day, whether racing or shooting freeride.

Andreu is at the top of his sport so I would think that his crazy go-hard attitude when off the bike is actually helping his "on-stage" performance.

Most of you are all sort of missing my point. Let me be clear, I don't give a shit about anyone choosing to drink. I myself drink on a weekly basis and when I do so I do it in mass quanitites. I also have no problems with tattoos, many of my friends have these and I myself have two. My point was more that the kid is a fucking idiot. It would be one thing if he had grown up in this sort of moto/skate culture but the fact is he didn't. He took a trip to southern california and after about 2 weeks of exposure to the culture there he got a full sleeve tattoo and dove head first into this world he knew nothing about. If you asked him to tell you the history of this culture, he would probably not be able to tell you a single fucking thing. He is doign all of this with no sense of integrity or purpose or value and this is more my problem. He doesn't have a fucking clue.
