Xc loop for recovery after injury

So I broke my collarbone a month ago. Feels like I could get back on the bike soon for a gentle ride. So are there any good xc loops out there that don't include any gnar?

Or should I stick to UBC?

Don’t go out too early. You’ll have nothing to gain but a few crappy rides on trails you’ll never want to go back to. The downside is that it sets you back to the beginning.

I’d get an X-ray to make sure you’re healed up enough. You do not want to miss 10 weeks of May and June for the sake of not waiting another 2.

Circuit 8, like what was said. It’s not worth it tho. High school loop is also probably a good choice.

I’d continue to do what you have been doing. TRAIL RECON

This.

I broke mine last year in March. Ortho scheduled me for a 6 week follow up to re-xray. Every person and break is different but at that point I could ride on the road fine but would not have wanted to ride anything with bumps. Doc said and x-rays showed it had formed the fibrous mass that hold everything together but only some bone growth.

The difference between 6 and 8 weeks was huge for me. At 6 it felt sketchy, at 8 it felt pretty solid and I was doing slow careful laps around bridle path and sticks and stones.

Give it 2 more weeks and do an x-ray to confirm. Don't risk hurting it and wrecking the whole summer.

Ride on gravel if that - concentrate on fitness - to echo what was said above. Do some stairs - great for cycling fitness.

Take your time coming back. I have seen people come back too early & it ruins them for later.

Yeah thanks guys. I know a thing or two about coming back after breakages :)

I'm not looking at doing anything serious for a long while. I was just wondering if there was a good gravel / singletrack route I didn't know about. Even HSL would be out of the question at the moment.

I have another follow up / x-ray in 3 or so weeks. I'm hoping by then I'll be riding some more serious loops.

Could head up fisherman's from Riverside drive, across the new bridge, up homestead, etc. Not exciting but good for fitness and fresh air. At 4 weeks I probably could have done that. At 6 for sure.

It’s paved, but the pedal out to Seymour Dam is nice for stretching the legs if you can’t ride trails.
