Winter riding holiday: California/Nevada?

Hey All;

My sister has a few weeks off coming up in February/March, and is looking to go riding somewhere semi-warm. She's willing to travel, and is thinking about Nevada or California.

She's 29, has been riding seriously for a season or two, and loves it. She's done a skills camp, a few races and been in a 24 hour. She rides an 06 Specialized full suspension xc/trail rig. She lives and rides in Ontario, so she's not DH/FR at all and likes to keep the tires on the trail.

She's looking for a 3 or 4 day organized bike tour to participate in, since she'll be on her own. Any recommendations, ideas, or suggestions?

Feb / March? Moab might be an option if you push to March.

I'd take Cali over Nevada. It may not be as warm but it'll probably feel like an oven compared to Ontario.

I've always liked Big Sur. Laid-back, uncrowded, beautiful - the way Cali probably was in the good ol days. Cheap too in the off-season. But the riding might be more limited and I know nothing about guided tours. I could point out a couple riding spots near Morro Bay

These are all good fun. Also check out Rockville which is east of Napa. Definitely spend time in San Francisco and then hit Skeggs and Soquel Demo Forest on the way to Big Sur. Look em up on MTBR.com or some of the sites listed above.

Or ask these guys:

I think Matt is the main guy behind this group. He might know of a group tour.
