Well, the "this" discussers amongst us will have much more luck in person.

I thought PS was slated for decommission from the very start of this whole mess? I found it curiously odd that someone went in and did a bunch of work on it when I thought it was common knowledge that it's days were numbered. Did the district issue a permit?

That was my understanding as well but I'm clearly not in the loop. OP, if you're concerned, why not just email the NSMBA?

sorry I'm busy with WORCA trail building on Sproatt this weekend. not everyone can make in person chats and rely on talking amongst themselves in mediums they have access to.

Just renewed my WORCA membership. The good work is appreciated!

interesting that you blame the general riding public for photos, Sven, when it was the builder who first posted them to social media as I recall seeing. nice blame deflection. so much secrecy related to trail work, planning, etc on the shore, that's half your problem with people left to speculate about what's going on and fill in the blanks when there's little info coming out. but hey, carry on, I guess…..

The DNV have never gone back and removed authorized trail work.

If you do your walk through, show them the plans on paper, get the work approved and follow the work plan that was approved.

The fact that the DNV now gives funds to the NSMBA each year for trail work means that rules must be followed when tax payers dollars are involved.

I would advise against making the DNV look bad here. They are not to blame for this.

Please! Come discuss it!

Please discuss ongoing trailwork but only in private meetings at pre-set locations.

Instagram, twitter, nsmb.com and trailforks.com exist guys. You're not going to change that. Better adapt.

Sorry, I thought this was a discussion forum where questions were asked. I'll just rant away on here instead as that seems to be more popular. I'll also be sure to email the NSMBA and ask them. Don't expect me to share the response on here though. Must be kept secret - as who in their right mind would want to share information!

Problem:
Stop questioning online.

Why?

No, I said the man told us the haters send them complainy letters with photos and videos found online and that we are our own worst enemy by feeding the fire in threads like this one.

My personal opinion is that keeping an open dialog by whatever means, allowing for alternate opinions and dissent through any media is always superior to any policy of quashing discussion out of fear for the "watchers".

If we show ourselves to be an open, mature culture, we will always be superior to those who lurk in the shadows looking to find support for their negative biases and world views.

Hi Monica!

When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity.

When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.

So how do we square that with comments made in this thread?

I emailed the NSMBA to find out what's going on with Pink Starfish. They replied that they are working with the DNV to offer a public message, so i expect we will hear an official statement soon.

Was out for a ride yesterday. Was going to walk down PS and see the destruction, but continued on and ended up riding 7th into Ladies. Fantastic conditions. Lots of new dirt on upper part of 7th patching up holes and making the trail flow nicely.

After seeing the post PS and what's been happening on Fromme, I was quickly distracted by the work on Ladies. Once again Digger has managed to one up him past work. Some really nice replacements and great new bits are there for the enjoyment, while, at least to me preserving the old school feel of the trail. Over the past few years Ladies has evolved and has been an excellent trail, hard to believe it's even better now, but it is.

Finished up the ride and noticed the NSMBA tent up by the washrooms, so I went to check it out. Digger was there talking up a storm. I don't know him, but over the years have talked to him a few times, usually, on route down Ladies or lately Expresso. However, I don't think I have every seen him as animated or excited as he was last night. Talked a little about PS, the Heritage fund, and the recent work on Ladies. He was so pumped about the new features and wanted to know if I rode them and what I thought. What an amazing person to have continually building the legacy of the shore for us all to enjoy. Big Thank you to Digger, all the other builders and the NSMBA who continue to make the shore fun.

The best part is what I took away from my brief conversation with Digger. He was really excited about what is happening and in the works on the Fromme. Yes, still work to be done with trail permits and continuing to build the relationships with land owners / managers, but to me it seemed that Digger was very positive about good thing continuing to happen on Fromme. Seems like a good barometer to go by to me.

I waste too much time on teh internetz, but regardless of what actually went down, it's interesting to note just how much time the extremely vocal minority have to stir the pot, whether it be locally or worldwide. This letter for example and the comments below. I gave up on reading the comments due to it being too mindblowing for words:

And then there's good old Mikey V and his list of dead mountain bikers:

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY MONICA!
