Why do we keep using the word loam?

well duff breaks down and becomes loam, ergo, duff = loam

But even then, it's still not the same surface that people are referring to.

What doesn't irk you?

For a guy who has gone through some trying times, you sure seem to focus on the trival. I'm sure I've made some spelling error, or something else in this post which likely irks you even more THEN your original post….lol. I think someone needs to go ride a bike and that someone is me.

I think Biggles spent the morning walking around Port Moody.

It's all about fun.

Duff, loam, I'll take either over the golden clump of dog crap that stuck to my tire last monday. What's in that stuff that makes it cling to tires until you get airborne, at which time it releases in small quantities over long periods?

I agree with biggles. It's duff, organic, red rot, freshies, not loam. Freshies all day! Manicured, packed, bermed gold is nice, but nothing beats wearing in a fresh line!

i blame Rat, i think he was one of the first to use 'that' word on here.

The Bike mag Fear and Loaming article was the first time I heard it misused. Blame Mitchell Scott.

We have a riding friend named Duff so to want to ride "duff" would just be wrong… I`m going to continue to use loam be it incorrect or not!

Because "Loamy" rhymes withe "Homies". No one likes to ride with their "Duffy Homies". That's why.
