Why do we keep using the word loam?

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

almost as bad as the over/misuse of the word "Epic".

That one gets abused the most, well "Sick" is getting pretty bad as well….

misuse of the word loam is almost as bad as the misuse of the term "fire road" in BC. We have logging roads, FSRs etc. here, the rare fire road lead to fire towers and such

Because brospeak is a different language from English. It's just a coincidence that the two types of material are so close together in the classification of soils.

I don't know the brospeak word for loam. Santorum perhaps?
