Looking for deals on tires and some other parts. Best place? Cove? John Henry's? MEC?

Suggestions?

For tires bikediscount in Germany is your best bet in terms if pricing. If its just one or two tires, perhaps not worth it, but buy a few and its a great deal.

CRC also has tires on sale from time to time, and they dont charge shipping like bikediscount does.

For parts, MEC will likely be the cheapest if you can find it there, otherwise its a crapshoot as to the cheapest LBS. Online still has the best deals if that is what is your deciding factor.

If you're looking online Tbsbikeparts.com is also a good option, if they have the tires you want. Based in Kelowna so quick shipping and no customs bs

check out Commencal Canada for tires. Best deals I've found on Maxxis in a long time. They are located in Squamish.

Thanks for the tips. The Commencal site looks cheap. The DH casings are heavy though!

Looks like there are still a lot of options for 26ers out there.

That helps when trying to weigh up how far my dollar will go for buying used bikes. Good deals on 26ers out there etc but parts longevity is always an issue.

Gully's garage sale or make friends with someone who can get you a pro deal.

Not on the North Shore, but I find Dunbar consistently seems to have better prices than most of the other shops around here. It still boggles my mind to see the prices differences on the exact same product from store to store. Like I purchased a derailleur at one shop for like $150 only to walk down the street and another shop had it for like $110 (and it wasn't even on sale)... It seems like its really easy to overpay for something if you don't do your research beforehand.

I hear you. I bought a set of RF Indy's from MEC then went to Lynn Valley Bikes and they were 18 bucks cheaper there.

Commencal's pricing on those tires is pretty damn good if you can make their store hours in Squamish to avoid shipping. I've found North Shore Bike Shop has the best prices on Maxxis ($80), and Dunbar is OK if they have their $90-95 sale prices going.

Had to do a bulk order of parts so I went with bike24.de - $50CAD for 27.5x2.5 DHF DH casing Super Tacky. But 20EUR shipping on the order...

I'm a fan of supporting/buying local. I find the service, knowledge, and immediate availability tend to outweigh the amount of $$ I save.

That said, I find myself at North Shore Bike Shop when I am needing anything.

Lynn Valley Bikes usually have what I need.

I have picked a few last minute needs up a Lynn Valley, good folks for sure.

Picked up some new treads at Dunbar last week at a great price;  Another shop that are friendly and have a good supply of smaller parts.
