What companies off proper MTB tours like Sacred Rides?

Hey all,

As per the thread title: What companies off proper MTB tours like Sacred Rides?

I'm aware of Gravity Peru/Bolivia but I am more of an XC guy.

I have also heard TwoWheelTours does some good stuff in Aus/NZ.

My reason for asking is that I have a bit of time off between 11 June and 5 July, but as my family is going to be overseas I thought I'd also jump on a plane to somewhere and get some awesome riding in!

Unfortunately, Sacred Rides' dates don't line up for me.

Anybody have any suggestions. Literally happy to go anywhere in the world, would prefer something in the order of a 10 day tour.

If all else fails I guess I can do another Vancouver/Whistler/BC trip #firstworldproblems :p

I did a Big Mountain Bike Adventure in February to Costa Rica and would give them a thumbs up.

Hey Andrew,

Mike here with Sacred Rides. First off, thanks for thinking of us!

Secondly, we have a fair bit of stuff that will line up with your dates. Here's a look at what's on offer with respect to our singletrack trips (I assume you want a proper MTB trip, not beginner riding):

http://sacredrid.es/1f0gtze

I think all are available with the exception of the Peru trip, which is sold out. The Slovenia trip is down to 2 spots (and is awesome). Coming all the way from Australia, it probably comes down to where you can get flights to for a reasonable price.

You can also see the full schedule (including beginner level trips) at http://www.sacredrides.com/schedule

Quick note: all of our departures are guaranteed to run, so we never ever cancel a trip due to low numbers. And they're backed by our Satisfaction Guarantee. Our aim is to deliver an amazing trip and peace of mind during the planning process. Check out more at www.sacredrides.com/whyus

Drop us a line at [email protected] and we'd be happy to help.

Cheers, and wherever you end up, have an awesome time!

Island Mountain Rides - http://islandmountainrides.com/

or

Drift Mountain Biking - http://driftbiking.com/ (they are more about instruction than tours…)

A combo of the above two would make for a great trip! Some riding and some training.

Both on the island.

In the US Hermosa Tours and Cog Wild offer tours in various places. Some of the high country may not be snow free yet in your time window but there is some awesome riding in the Southwest and Pacific NW. You could easily spend a month riding awesome trails in Oregon and Washington. June/July is prime riding time there, could be a little early for Colorado but this year you never know. Or just head to Whistler/Squamish for a month. You could get by without a vehicle in many places if you wanted (ie, Durango, Oakridge OR).

I did a few days riding with Gravity Bolivia a few years back. I wouldn't let the name turn you off, they offer some big descents but I'd call it more xc than anything (ok, "trail"). I also did a few days near Cuzco with KB Tours which now makes up the Peru side of that business. Between the two areas you could get some awesome riding in, and there is a lot of stuff to see that would easily fill up your month. Your time frame is a pretty good weather window too.

I would ask what ever tour company you go with what they do for the trails they are taking you on.

Do they help with maintenance, pay a fee or just poach the trails for profit….
