Strava users put up tracks of riding illegal trails and trespassing on private property eg poaching BC Parks trails thus making all of us look like goombahs. We're talking bike shop owners, pro riders, industry. Strava won't take those track down even if told the reason why. This happens all over the world too - Yellowstone National Park, Swiss National Park, UK wetlands, Banff National Park etc.
Trailforks (and Pinkbike who owns them) are committed to removing illegal trails off Trailforks. Send them a note and its gone ASAP. If a trail association wants to they can take admin ownership of a network of trails and flag illegal or sensitive trails to hide them.
Huge difference. Strava disregards illegal trail abuse and ignores notices about abuse. Trailforks respects user concerns.
Peace out.
People have been posting about riding in BC parks for years (Manning anyone? w/photos to boot). Stop blaming the app, start blaming the people using it. That's like saying it's the guns fault for pulling the trigger.
Peace out? Stay out mang.
