Traffic on the North Shore ...... WTF ?

No need for that Fern southbound from the west when people can get on at Brooksbank/Mtn Hwy. Your Fern on ramp drawn in would be a gong show with the Fern ramp from the east.

The next bottle neck is going to be the off ramp at Fern to get to Mountain Hwy. People coming from east via Seymour Parkway need to do a criss cross with the people exiting. If that off ramp backs up onto the hwy it will be a gong show.

Yeah, it's just that light at Mtn and Keith suuuuuucks.

Don't know about the other bit though, as that merge/criss-cross section is pretty long and it goes into it's own lane up the cut.

if nothing else, it's been (kinda) fascinating watching the changes in traffic flow as new systems are implemented. make an improvement here, a new bottleneck appears there. curious how sophisticated their traffic modelling systems are, or if it's just a game of whack a mole.

Yep. Soul crushing. It's even worse the other direction,  when heading south on mtn hwy from Lynn Valley trying to get back the seymour area, it's totally stupid. You get to choose between joing highway 1 to get to dollarton (and you have to merge into the main freeway traffic for like 100 feet, then merge off, why the fuck  couldn't that on ramp/offramp just be continuous so I dont have to also slow down all of the through traffic just to merge off again? Or, you have to wait at that stupid light at the overpass, then keith/mtn to turn left, and all the way aroud onto seymour parkway. For that case I don't get why there is a dedicated lane only northbound to get to lynn valley when it seem like it could have been two way. That would have been awesome, direct traffic flow form seymout to lynn in both directions that does not touch the freeway. That type of improvement would actually get local traffic off that choked up part of the cut.

I cant comment on “their”, with “they” being specifically this project, but its a fascinating science for sure.

Once you've experienced how fast Italians drive through roundabouts, you know monkeys can fly.

Mayhaps it was just a thought after they approved the (tower) developments in the area? Sort of like "ah shit, now we have to do something about it."

Random interjected rant for you shore dweller's is random, provided you reside in a single family dwelling unit:

Get a light for your address! Trim the hedge! Make it visible ffs.

This is a precise illustration of my fears around increasing the size and frequence of the tankers heading up Indian Arm. Or an earthquake.

Look at the effect this tiniest issue on the bridge caused around the city. If one of these bridges were permanently disabled the whole place would grind to a halt. We desperately need a transit link that's separate from these bridges. At least in an emergency pedestrians could still get around.

Have noticed it getting busier turning from ellis onto dollarton in the mornings and that whole stretch of dollarton to the bridge.

Certainly seems people from blue ridge and deep cove are avoiding the Keith overpass and cutting down to dollarton.  Definitely hope that does not become a trend. Dollarton westbound will become the new main street eastbound. That area is not designed for high traffic volumes, at all.
