Thanks for dragging the large piece of wood across the landing on one of the jumps on braap on burke mountain. The crash I had as a result was awesome. Love to meet up with you and talk more about it.

That's brutal! It wasn't the big jump was it?

Rode Braaap last Thursday with the kids and all was good then. Bastards. Deliberate placement or just some idiot? Assuming you're ok? Or at least your typing hand?

it wasn't a tree that just fell on the trail. Definitly deliberate, I'm just not sure if it was placed because someone was trying to jump past it or if they put it there to be a dick. Either way I couldn't see it coming until I had left the jump and by then I was screwed. Lots of aches and pains but nothing permanent.

That sucks.

Sounds like a deliberate attempt to cause injury. Worth reporting to the police so there's a record. Props for photos.

since it's a provincial park i'm fairly certain any reporting would result in a dismantling of the stunt. i could be wrong however.

in any event, it's a good "heads up" on checking out the landing before you huck (which is likely a good plan for any stunt)

Yeah, i don't think the cops will be too interested in any case… Nor will they have any success in doing anything about it if they are interested. Best to focus the cops on preventing car breakins.

Getting the police involved with anything is always a bad idea. The outcome is never good.

CSI will swab the piece of wood and they'll have a suspect within the hour based on a positive DNA match.

You must at least have a cell phone pic of said infraction.

Someone placing a log in a landing zone is unlikely to be another rider. More likely to be someone else using the mountain…

Confirm from a wood sample that this tree only grows in one specific location. Cut to suspects backyard.

Ohh yeahhh.

OP Glad you're OK.

Which jump

the one that has a bit of a berm into it. There is a small sign before you go into it that says "gap" on it. If I can figure out my phone I will upload photos of what it all looked like.
