Why waste our time on the three mountains we know as "the shore"? For me its all about the feeling of freedom, nobody telling me what to do, and of course the smell of mountain air, and if possible, freshly split cedar! This thread is to share our love for the shore, what makes you guys keep coming back for more?

rides like this morning, super foggy, raining lightly and muddy.

I actually stopped on CBC and looked at the fog hanging in the trees and thought"this is a classic shore moment":D

Because some is across my street. Because I make some. because cedar keeps moths out of my closet.

Eye on the TV
'cause tragedy thrills me
Whatever flavor
It happens to be like:
"Killed by the husband"
"Drowned by the ocean"
"Shot by his own son"
"She used the poison in his tea
and kissed him goodbye"
That's my kind of story
It's no fun til someone dies

For me (let's see - 3 Shore rides my entire life to this point), it has an energy/aura about it.
You can either go and just have a casual roll or you can seriously test your limits around any given corner. The people I've come across every time I've ridden up there (as well as Woodlot and Whistler) are top-shelf. I can't think of one bad interaction I've had with anybody up there.

And yes, Chad, it is so fresh.

Howdy, Chad!

Blablabla…

It's fun.

for bikers, the north shore as a vibe about it you can't match. Today was the best shore ride I have had, probably ever. It was the "typical" shore ride, foggy the top half, pouring rain, muddy, crazy slippery, and loving every minute of it. Definatly what the shore is all about.

I've had some of my best rides lately in the fog and rain. You know it's slippery so you're forced to stay off the brakes and let it go.

The shore IS wet riding. There is a feeling you get at this time of year when it's wet and foggy and misty and cool that just makes it sooooo sweet.

Plus that end of summer ride when the trails you've been ripping in the dry get thier first real rain and you suddenly realize why the trails are labeled black diamond:D

The shore keeps you honest, there's no faking it.

i ride it 'cos its on the other side of the world and therefore is a long way from work or other nonsense (so not very regularly). Fell in love with vancouver/shore in sept 2001 when i stayed for two weeks.
Rolling over the second narrows bridge at 8am (yes i was that keen to ride) in the mist with the mountains above. For three days i rode from downtown to seymour and back and loved it. I didnt even feel like i had wasted that effort, even when i discovered i was 2 blocks from the sea bus.
LOL seabus rocks. (and your regular busses too):D
