big stupid is the wrong name for the trail, it's actually skull or upper skull as a lot of people say seeing as the trail is split by the BP. trailforks has the name wrong for some reason.

The trail was renamed Big Stupid when Digger redid that section of trail, coinciding with the DNV's signage project in 2011. It makes sense to me because this section of trail doesn't actually end at the top of (Lower) Skull. While it was often called Upper Skull by locals, was the trail actually on a map with that name? Asking because I simply can't recall.

sweet on hitting the line at 60 - make sure you do it again in another 10yrs!

Too long to wait. Maybe when I'm 65 I'll learn to increase the dampening on the fork.

semi retarded is on the right and big stupid is on the left - the rider is hitting the big stupid. bonus points for anyone that knows what and where the milky wade is.

that rock face is just past where upper skull splits off from ladies. there's about 6 different lines down through that section.

The Milky Wade. That brings a few things back. Although I never did like the "thump" you got from the bottom of Semi.

Saw a friend do The Big Stupid long ago and smack the tree to the left. I am sure many clavicles have been "injured" there.

But now it is not really on the ideal route.

I often liked the line to the left of the Milky Wade and in fact it is not nearly as smoothe but is interesting. It is not encouraged, however.

Good times.

Thanks for all the insight. Good to hear about the history behind the trails and discover some new gnar. Excited to go out and find that rock face next ride!

It wasn't renamed. Just identified correctly. It has always been the big stupid.

Did maps exist before 2003?

I just like using stupid hashtags because I don't have a twitter, facebook or instagram handle.

Two more that don't really change much, but are fun to look at.

2007, Kieth Dunn

2001, Mountain Biking British Columbia, 2nd Edition - this was back when trails found you when you were ready for them.

Well, I've got Espresso taken care of above. Over to you to prove Leppard from a photo from your house.

another Leopard. Bring it on taprider. (not Trailforks, because we all know it's Leppard - I'm curious if you've got an old map that shows Leppard)
