What exactly is the Big Stupid? I always found it strange that the drop at the end of the ladder going around the tree would warrant that name. Did that drop used to be bigger? I also noticed a big 10-15 foot drop just after the trail on the other side of the Baden Powell. Is that it? That would make more sense to me, but the trail technically ends at the Baden Powell on Trailforks. That drop after the BP looks pretty sick, but my bike and joints would prefer I avoid it…

It's one of the two (?) lines on this rock face. I can never remember if Big Stupid or Semi Retarded is on the right.

I think the rider in that video is rolling into the switchback section at the very end just before the BP

semi retarded is on the right and big stupid is on the left - the rider is hitting the big stupid. bonus points for anyone that knows what and where the milky wade is.

that rock face is just past where upper skull splits off from ladies. there's about 6 different lines down through that section.

Semi is riders right. BS is left.

Rock faces at bottom of Ladies Only, but now you might miss it with the swoopy ride around.

Milky Wade was a line to the left that put you onto a log ride. Pretty tech. I remember riding there with Tyler Klassen 1997ish. Bumped into Digger at that very spot. Tyler says, "I think I'm going to drop this" Digger says"hold on, let me film this." Crazy at the time. Landed it pretty clean. Digger said that only one other person had ever attempted that, a guy named Dan. (Dangerous Dan). Pretty rad day in mtbk history. A little later on that ride, Tyler ripped his head tube clear off his bike wheelie dropping one of the switchbacks on lower kirkford. Funny stuff. Aww the old days.

I always thought it was odd that Super T was a guy at the top of his game, then all of a sudden dropped off the face of the (free ride) earth.

The drop you're talking about is the Scapulator, I forget who it was exactly, (maybe Omar?) Broke their scapula on it, hence the name. One of the first big natural drops on the Shore that actually had a bit of a transition. Fun one back in the day…

Big Stupid is both a trail and a feature off Ladies Only. You can see both on Trailforks. You'll miss the feature if you don't know where to go off trail.

Semi-Retarded is on the right. It's wide and forgiving, making it a good warm-up.

The Big Stupid is a 6" wide track that points you straight at the tree in Drew's video. It's NOT forgiving, but it was a great way to celebrate my 60th birthday!

big stupid is the wrong name for the trail, it's actually skull or upper skull as a lot of people say seeing as the trail is split by the BP. trailforks has the name wrong for some reason.

sweet on hitting the line at 60 - make sure you do it again in another 10yrs!
