I have a had a few higher speed get offs where I have clipped a pedal on a rock or something. One stupid one I had stalled out going up a steep trail at thew third of three step ups. Took out the left foot, started to tip right though so I jumped off the bike and landed about two feet down off the edge of the trail, on my feet and compressed to absorb the landing. Caught a small stump in my side and broke 4 ribs.
A couple years ago I had come to a stop on a very rooty spot. Stepped off and stumbled and bounced my knee off the rotor. Probably should have gotten 6 or 7 stitches but the wait on a Saturday night at Lions Gate was about five hours so I went home.
But really, aren't all crashes the result of stupidity? (other than a part failure or trail sabotage which is someone else stupidity?)
Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.
