Speed on the Shore

I'm a newbie on the Shore. So far I've ridden Severed Dick on Seymour, and Seventh Secret and Pipeline on Fromme. While these trails were challenging and incredibly fun to ride, I'd like to do some faster riding next time, as opposed to the tricky (for me) technical stuff that would kill me at higher speeds. I've heard that Ned's might be good for this… looking for more "flow"…

Any suggestions? Thanx.

even Neds won't be that much faster than the trails you mentioned. basically shore is slow speed tech for the most part.

i would suggest SFU / BBY mtn … or squamish / whistler

I'd stay away from Cypress (the old school trails, not the bike park) if you're just learning. The park would be great to build up your speed.

Also try Espresso, the bottom is a cruising blast! A perfect compliment to 7th.

I'd disagree, i dont think the park would be a good place to build speed because most of it is smooth ( without the roots ). You miss the aspect of picking your own lines, which i think is the biggest step to gaining speed. I think what schnrck said about riding the shore more often is the best way to gain speed.

Nice list. I'd like to add Triple Crown/Galloway/Flywheel on Burke to that, although it mostly natural terrain(Time Killer comes to mind), it does have flow.

During the Middle Ages, probably one of the biggest mistakes was not putting on your armor because you were 'just going down to the corner'.

Agreed. Cypress BP wouldn't be the place to learn to hit the shore with speed, it'd really only be good to practice going fast with the skills you already have. Shore more often would be the best way to progress, but as he's still learning staying off of Cypress (not the BP) is probably best.

By the way, Pipeline is pretty easy but you can rip it pretty quick.
