that thread is 2 years old. I can see both sides but it's really up to courts if the claim is valid.

It has nothing to do with me as I'm not selling or making money from what I'm doing. But it does suck when a small start up company like http://www.revelatedesigns.com/ gets burned by a big corporation. BTW they make a killer product.

I've got a buddy named Nick who isn't too pleased about you using his name as your user name here at NSMB. Expect a strong-worded letter from the law firm of Bendum Over and Squeel.

Wrong. Always.

It's too bad they make such great bikes. I'd like to feel bad about enjoying yesterday's ride so much on my Specialized, but I don't. P.S. The Marzocchi fork on my bike was flawless in it's performance too.

Or, more commonly, a large company will sue a smaller one for patent, copyright, or trademark infringement. The smaller guy then has to concede regardless of what's right or legal, due to the fact that they can't take on the legal fees and compete with the other company's deep pockets.

I think Bob Villa on the board here , received a strongly worded letter from the real Bob Villa's people. Must not have been that strong worded as he is still using that board name.

a pretty common occurance in business it seems, and nothing new to the bike industry. Whatt about in 1996 when Rocky Mountain wanted to call their new group of mountain bikers "the Rocky Mountain Freeriders" and Cannondale threatened to sue as they had apparently trademarked the term "freerider"? so began the Froriders. I 'm not going to ever buy a Cannondale…..er not that I ever would have lol
