Seymour Conditions

From the golf course climb, across bridle up cardiac and academy, salamander and sticks and stones is 95% clear if your just looking to get some fresh air out on the mountain. 

For me, that's enough to get my fix, I'm not actually that curious to find out what an icy severed or pangor lap feels like at this stage in my riding career.  :-D

Thanks! I elected to stay local and figured out a half decent lap.

Or you could venture out to the Delta Watershed where the conditions have been mint since Saturday (possibly earlier). Dry dirt, dry log rides, etc.

Did a couple of laps of Bridle and High School yesterday. Mostly clear, but there's a couple of sections that are super slick.

Well the organizers cancelled the mountain bike portion of the race and also now require all trail runners to use grips/spikes.

I'm guessing the dusting of snow and freeze cycle didn't help matters.

Bummer. Prior to last night everything was getting back to "normal". 

I might check out the lower trails after work tonight but expectations are low.

That's what I'm wondering. I've emailed the organizers asking about their plans for weather/snow cancellations. If I were a race organizer, I wouldn't be putting folks (who may not be hardcore mountain bikers) out in slippery stuff. Let alone folks that have already run the course and are switching to the bike - i.e. a bit delusional with slow reaction times after that many hours of physical activity.

Good point. They may adjust the course, but that's racing, no way they will cancel it.

Looks like for the most part the snow should be gone by then.

Anyone ride Seymour the last few days? Clearing up yet? Weather forecast is starting to look better over next weekend.

Rode on Friday afternoon and it was terrible. Thick slippery slush everywhere. It was pretty warm over the weekend so I bet it's getting better, but personally I'm going to give it a few more days.

I was hopeful with the forecast but now there's a chance of another 5-15cm on the Shore tonight/tomorrow morning... hopefully it doesn't stick and falls as rain.

I went up golf course, academy, rtc, and down applicator, salamander, sticks and stones today. Short slush sections on the climb but the dirt is good. Looked like too much snow to continue up further, though it may have been one of those big mysterious patches.

Lets just all agree to give the trails some time to thaw and drain?
